The Minister of Industry discusses with the Irish Ambassador strengthening economic partnership and industrial cooperation.

Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem held a meeting with Aidan O'Hara, the Irish Ambassador to Cairo, to discuss prospects for enhancing joint industrial cooperation between Egypt and Ireland in the coming period. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Maghawry, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation, and several other ministry officials.
The meeting addressed a number of promising industrial sectors for cooperation between the two countries, most notably pharmaceuticals, electronics, software, and telecommunications, given the advanced expertise of Irish companies in these fields.
The two sides also discussed arrangements for the upcoming visit of a delegation from the Irish Export Development Agency to Egypt during the last week of this month. The visit aims to explore available trade and investment opportunities in the Egyptian market and discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister of Industry emphasized Egypt's keenness to benefit from Irish expertise in deepening local manufacturing and transferring technology and technical knowledge to Egyptian industry, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in regional and global markets.
The minister highlighted the importance of exploring the establishment of a joint Egyptian-Irish Business Council to increase trade, attract investments, and strengthen partnerships between the business communities of both countries. He affirmed the Ministry of Industry's readiness to provide the necessary support to Irish companies operating in Egypt.
For his part, the Irish ambassador to Cairo emphasized his country's keenness to enhance cooperation with Egypt, noting the interest of Irish companies in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and artificial intelligence sectors in making new investments in the Egyptian market.
