The Regional Labor Market Observatory in Sadat City

Overview

The Regional Labor Market Observatory in Sadat City was established in December 2013 to collect and analyze up-to-date labor market data, including employment opportunities, required skills, and training needs.

The observatory follows the Prospect approach, which is based on cooperation and dialogue between stakeholders to improve employment policies and connect technical education with private-sector needs.

The observatory team includes representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Manpower, and Sadat City Investors Association.

Phase One

Labor market study for industrial sectors

Selected sectors included engineering, ready-made garments, spinning and textiles, and agricultural and food industries. The study covered 117 industrial establishments registered with the Investors Association.

Phase Two
March 2015 to May 2016

Chemical industries and building materials study

The study identified intervention programs that support youth employment and reduce labor market challenges, including disability employment and plastic machine operator training.

Phase Three
May 2017 to March 2018

Canning and textile sectors study

The study covered 32 establishments to assess current labor conditions, future labor demand, required qualifications, and labor-related challenges, alongside supply-side and employment services analysis.

Phase Four
April 2, 2019

Industrial establishments database launch

A database was launched for 1,148 industrial establishments, covering company, contact, ISIC classification, workforce, investment, training, and education information.
