Sadat city is the second city of the first generation which the agency of inhabitant communities built in 1976, in order to be a new inhabitant community. it is based upon the industrial and agricultural activities, Its unique location between Cairo and Alex, along the Delta, has made it a big centre to attract the local and foreign investments to form a large urban community.

Sadat city lies north-west of Cairo, about kilo 93, the desert (Cairo - Alex.) road, Its area is 500 km2. The total inhabitant area is 18 km2, this area is divided into 12 parts with abut 70 thousand person and it includes 5 industrial areas. The city is surrounded by a green area of 30 thousand feddans, this made the international health organization classified it as one of the best ten industrial centres in the middle east, because of its clean environment and the safety of its natural resources.

The industrial investment:
The industrial investments represents, the backbone for development in Sadat city. As the annual outcome was more than 4.6 million L.E in 1999. The industrial area has been planned to be in the south-east of the city in order to protect the inhabitant area from the smoke and noise caused by the industrial work.

Sadat city has attracted more investments in the field of light, mediate and heavy industries, in addition to the workshops and small industries for reinforcement.

The agricultural investments and food security :
The general planning of the Sadat City includes about 30 thousand feddans, represent a green circle stretched around the city, and it is considered one of its landmark in the desert, and 20 thousand feddans have been reclaimed and gown with fruits and vegetables. Also, there is a centre for agricultural researches and desert developing the city.

Industrial area expansions:
The minister of housing, roads and inhabitant communities put the base stone in 26-3-1997 to increase the area and to add more land along the high way to cope with the investment requirements in the city, the basic buildings has been finished, this is represented in setting up and operating the draining nets, smoothing the roads network and linking the electric power and the necessary was sources to about 2.5 million people and the process of specialization has started for the sake of investors.
